About LocalResizer
LocalResizer is a browser-based tool for static image resizing and compression. The current site focuses on practical JPEG, PNG, and WebP tasks that can be completed entirely on your device.
How It Works
The site uses browser-native canvas processing so your image stays in the tab where you opened the tool. There is no server upload step for the current image workflow.
What the Site Covers Right Now
- General homepage tool for quick file-size compression or dimension-based resizing
- Target-size pages such as 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, and 2 MB workflows
- Exact canvas pages for current YouTube banner and thumbnail dimensions
Supported Files
- JPEG for photos and lighter lossy compression
- PNG for graphics and transparent images
- WebP for modern static image compression
What Each Live Page Type Means
- Compress pages aim for a target file size locally, with JPEG and WebP using quality search and PNG staying in PNG format.
- Resize-to-size pages reduce image dimensions toward a target file-size budget while keeping the original aspect ratio.
- Exact canvas pages create a fixed output size for current YouTube artwork and keep the whole image visible inside that canvas.
Current Public Limits
The public scope is limited to static image workflows for JPEG, PNG, and WebP files. Animated formats, video tools, and automatic crop workflows are not part of the current release.
